Thai Singer-songwriter Cupnoodle Rejects Unwanted Thoughts of Past Love in Playful New Single ‘EX’
ZETIZENS.ID – Thai independent singer-songwriter Cupnoodle has a fun new single that plays on words containing the letters “ex”, creating an upbeat pop song that everyone out there can dedicate to their exes.
In her new song ‘EX’, Cupnoodle shares that she was inspired by the amount of time that we often spend dwelling on the past, and how every small little thing we encounter during the day can seem to be able to make us think of our former favourite human being.
“I wanted to tell this story using words with the letters ‘ex’ throughout the verses to showcase that even unrelated and irrelevant words can somehow be linked to the thoughts of an ex, and exhibit how ridiculous and easy it is for our minds to wander and connect any small detail, no matter how unrelated they may be, to our pasts.”

“The urge to want to leave this thought pattern behind and move on, and to find out what other words will not make me think of my ex, is just a fun and quirky perspective to show how desperate I am to get my EX out of my mind!”
‘EX’ is a mix between a throwback to the early 2000s R&B jams and orchestral bedroom pop.
Compared to Cupnoodle’s previous single ‘Bababababy’, ‘EX’ is more experimental and sparse in its production and songwriting, especially in its incorporation of different ear candy sounds and spoken words. The addition of trumpets also gives this pop song a really unique element. (Sobri)
